Due to their flexibility and durability, Guatemalan and Mexican palms are great choices for on the farm or garden, out on the bike, on the beach, or in the stream. These hats can deal with getting wet and you actually use water to shape them. For your show or more formal needs, Bangora and Shantung make wonderful hats, however, these materials are best suited for dry situations. FYI: If you are planning to be in the rain or snow often, for prolonged periods, we recommend a hat cover, as they work much better for prolonged exposure than the weather-proofing sprays do.
